President Launches BP Centenary Commemorative Coin

Kathmandu, June 1: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav launched the ‘ BP centenary commemorative coin’ amidst a ceremony at the Shital Niwas on Sunday.

 

On the occasion, the President said socialism promoted by BP Koirala is equally important and relevant at present time. He underlined the need for adopting BP’s thoughts for the welfare of the nation, expressing hope that political transition existing in the country will end once the Constituent Assembly promulgates a new constitution.

 

President of the BP Chintan Pratisthan, Haribol Bhattarai, argued that BP’s socialism is the means of taking the nation ahead with the safeguard of nationality.

 

Pratisthan senior vice president Sudistilal Das, general secretary Deependra Prakash Poudel stressed the need for bringing socialism based on BP’s thoughts into practice.

 

The Pratisthan issued a silver coin in commemoration of the centennial birth anniversary of BP Koirala. The value of the coin is Rs. 1,500.

 

It may be noted that the Pratisthan is going to hold the International Socialists Conference in Nepal on June 14 and 15 and has invited Myanmar’s democratic icon and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi to the event, according to general secretary Poudel.
