Kathmandu, June 1: The central committee meeting of the CPN-UML on Sunday passed the political document to be presented in the ninth general convention of the party being held on June 3 to 7.

With the passage of the document, the general convention would have only one political line. It has also ensured the convention on the stipulated date.

Publicity Department Chief of the party, Yuvraj Gyawali, said the political document would be sent the subordinate committees for further study and suggestions.

Party Chairman and coordinator of the document draft committee, Jhalanath Khanal, had presented the document at a meeting on May 28. It has now included the suggestions from the central members.

Before passing the document, senior leader of the party Madhav Kumar Nepal and his group had suggested to mention that the country has entered capitalistic mode while the group led by parliamentary party leader KP Sharma Oli argued that Nepali society was still semi- feudal.

The passed document has mentioned the 2006 people’s movement as a special kind of political revolution. It has kept earlier policy intact that the guiding principle of the party is people’s multiparty democracy.

On the occasion, central committee member Thakur Gaire said the meeting passed the political document with some amendments.
