Biratnagar, May 24: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bamdev Gautam has said that promotion of seven Deputy Inspector bamdevGenerals (DIGs) into Additional Inspector Generals (AIGs) of Nepal Police would begin soon as the body concerned has given a final touch to the Nepal Police Regulations.

Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport today, Gautam said that the government would begin the promotion process soon as the Public Service Commission has given a consensus to the Police Regulations.

On a separate context, the Deputy Prime Minister said that criticism of the current government was meaningless within just three months of the cabinet expansion.

“Criticism of the government is meaningless as the government continued the Constituent Assembly (CA) business, formed the National Planning Commission (NPC) and made remarkable achievements in constitution writing,” Gautam claimed.

The major goal of the incumbent government was to draft a democratic constitution within a year and the government was moving ahead for the same based on coordination and consensus of political parties, Gautam said.

He further said that the government would announce the date for local bodies’ election based on consensus of all political parties adding that the government was fully prepared for holding the local bodies’ election.
