Nepal Army enlightens over 1,000 students on landmine risk

Myagdi, May 21– The Nepalese Army, Indrabaks Battalion, Arthungey has imparted education on the hazard of landmines to 1,500 students in Myagdi district.

 The idea is to make the students and, through them, their parents aware about the risks of landmine and how to protect from landmine explosion, said the Battalion Chief Manorath Gautam.

  The special education programme on mine safety has been conducted at five different schools in the district. Pupils from Grade 6 to 10 have been imparted the mine safety education.

   The Nepalese Army’s this move has been well-received by the parents, teachers and students.

    Similarly, the army has intensified digging trenches around the forests in different areas for controlling forest fires in the context of increasing incidents of fires during the summer season. RSS
