Japanese Vice-Minister calls on President Yadav

Kathmandu, May 8: VisitingParliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Seiji Kihara paid a courtesy call on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the latter’s residence Shital Niwas today.

During the meeting, matters related to bilateral relations, mutual cooperation and interests, current political issues, regional and international interests were discussed, foreign ministry sources said.

 

Meanwhile, President Yadav said that Japan’s achievements in the areas of science and technology are the guidelines and source of inspiration to Nepal. Nepal expects continued support from foreign countries in the socio-economic development of Nepal, President Yadav said. Likewise, President Yadav recalled his visit to Japan and praised Japan’s continued support to Nepal even in adverse situation.

 

Vice-Minister Kihara is leading a five-member delegation comprising Japanese ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

 

Ambika Devi Luitel, chief at the North-East Asia Division of Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also present on the occasion.
