Biratnagar, May 7– Minister for Forests and Soil-Conservation Mahesh Acharya has said the Constituent Assembly (CA) would get a full shape within a week.
Talking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport today, he said the nomination process of the remaining 26 CA members has reached the final phase and the nomination would be announced soon.
“The Constitution-drafting is the priority of the incumbent government,” he said adding that political appointments have been delayed due to the same reason, but they will be made soon following consultations with other political parties.
Responding to a query of journalists, Minister Acharya urged one and all to focus on constitution-drafting rather than criticising the performance of the government. The Nepali people will get the new constitution on time, he added.
He said the government has directed the bodies concerned to intensify the development projects and complete them on time. Political parties are effortful to forge a consensus on the announcement of date for local polls, Minister Acharya said, adding, “Restructuring of the state and constitution-drafting would not be affected by the election of local bodies.”
