Janakpurdham, Feb. 6: Different people associated with the Gau Samrakchan Abhiyan and Civil Society today smeared soot on the face of Chief of the Janakpur-based Guthi Sansthan, Deepak Pandey, and also manhandled him.

They went to the Sansthan and manhandled Pandy after smearing soot on his face while heading towards the District Administration Office (DAO), Dhanusha, to submit a memorandum. They also hung a banner removing the name-board of the office.

Police personnel took Pandy at the DAO soon after the incident after providing security to him.

The dispute has surfaced after the Central Guthi Sansthan Board Committee on January 31 appointed Jagadish Das of Janakpur-6 as the priest of the Janaki Temple.

People associated with the Gau Samrakshan Abhiyan and civil society reached the DAO chanting slogans including central chairman of the Guthi, Panchalal Maharjan, be removed from the post, among others and submitted the memo. RSS
