NC will head new govt : Sitaula

Krishana-Prasad-SitaulaBhadrapur, 10 Jan – General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, has claimed that the NC would form a new government under its leadership as it has been established as the largest party in the Constituent Assembly.

Inaugurating the 20th town council meeting of the Bhadrapur Municipality here today, Sitaula said that at first initiatives would be taken to form a government on consensus but a majority government would be formed if formation of a consensus government was not possible.

He said that a new constitution would be promulgated within a year if political parties move ahead with consensus, expressing the belief that the first meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA) could be summoned within January 24 as there is a constitutional provision that the first CA meeting should be called within 21 days after the Election Commission submits name list of proportional lawmakers to the President.

The NC General Secretary expressed the view that election to the local bodies could be held within six months after the formation of a new government.

He further said that development construction in southern part of the Tarai including Bhadrapur would be accelerated after the construction of the postal highway.

On the occasion, Executive Officer at the Bhadrapur Municipality, Subash Shrestha said that the Child Protection Trust has been established to encourage helpless children towards study.
