Kirtipur, Jan. 9: The Nepali Congress Constitution Writing Suggestions Committee has directed the party’s newly elected Constituent Assembly (CA) members to submit their suggestions on constitution writing within five days.
The committee directed its CA members during the meeting of party central members and newly elected CA members held at party central office at Sanepa today. The meeting was held to discuss the working procedure of CA to promulgate a new constitution within a year
A central committee meeting of the party held on 22 December had formed a five-member committee under the coordination of Narahari Acharya to promulgate the new constitution within a year.
Party spokesperson, Dilendra Prasad Badu, said that discussion was held on constitution writing in the meeting organised today by the Committee.
In the meeting, party president Sushil Koirala, vice president Ram Chandra Poudel, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, among others emphasized that the responsibility to promulgate the new constitution within a year is on NC’s shoulder as per the aspiration of the people.
Badu said that the CA members were asked to provide suggestion about necessary working procedures to promulgate the new constitution within a year. RSS
