Kathmandu, Jan. 4: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Prakash Man Singh, has said it would be appropriate to call the Constituent Assembly meeting by the President as per the international standard.

Attending a programme organized by the Buddhanagar Youth Committee in the capital city today, General Secretary Singh said the President would call the Constituent Assembly meeting after the recommendation of the high-level political committee.

“The government despite accomplishing major responsibility of holding CA election, it can’t create dispute at the last moment,” he said, reminding that the first meeting of the last CA was called by then prime  minister Girija Prasad Koirala who has also the head of the State at that time. So, it’s the rule that President should call the CA meet, he argued.

Moreover, leader Singh said efforts were on to form government on consensus under the leadership of Nepali Congress. There was no alternative for the parties to bring a democratic constitution within a year.

Former CA member Radhe Shyam Adhikari said all concerned need to work seriously to deliver constitution to the people on time. RSS
