Kathmandu, Jan. 2: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav held discussion with senior leaders of the three major parties at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas today.

In the discussion held separately with the party leaders, matters relating to the formation of the new government and the summoning of the session of the Constituent Assembly were discussed.

Talking to media persons following the meeting, NC President Sushil Koirala said the President suggested bringing all the parties on board in the calling of the CA meeting and the formation of the next government.

Stating that the failure to hold the first sitting of the CA even after a long time since the November 19 election had not given a good message to the people, the President urged the leaders to convene the CA soon, Koirala said.

“The president inquired about the CA meeting and other contemporary political issues and I shared with him the preparations being made for calling the first CA meeting with a  consensus among all parties and for formation of a consensus government”, Koirala said.

Also today, President Dr Yadav held separate discussion with CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal and Unified CPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
