Kathmandu, Dec. 28: All three security bodies including Nepal Army (NA) and the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas performed a combined bands tattoo in Lalitpur on Saturday.

The Nepal Army, the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and the Gurkhas Brigade jointly performed the bands at the Physical Fitness Centre of Nepal Army in Jawalakhel.

On the occasion, the security bodies and the bands performed Nepali and British tunes separately and in group.

The Nepal Police had performed Panchebaja (a traditional band of Nepal) while the NA presented the tune of the all-time famous Nepali song ‘Resham firiri…’ with the applause of audience.

Likewise, the Band of the Gurkhas performed the English tune in addition to the musical track of Nepali song ‘Taalko pani…’. The band also demonstrated Khukri parade.

It is believed that such combined practice and joint programmes would help take the bilateral relations between the armies of Nepal and Britain to a new height.

Present on the occasion were Nepal Army Chief Gaurab Shumsher JB Rana including other security agencies chiefs, defense ministry officials, high-placed officials of the UK Embassy in Nepal, security personnel and  the family members of the Gurkhas servicemen.
