Kathmandu, Dec. 27: Minister for Science, Technology and Environment Umakanta Jha has said that implementation of some programmes of the ministry was poor due to the government’s sole focus on the recently conducted Constituent Assembly (CA) polls.

At a review meeting of the Ministry on Friday, Minister Jha, however, said that overall progress of the Ministry was satisfactory.

Likewise, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission Dr Rabindra Kumar Shakya said that the policy should be brought to utilize the human resources for country’s development by identifying the total number of scientists available in the country.

Similarly, Secretary at the Ministry Dr Somlal Subedi said that all bodies involved in science and technology, and climate change should take common responsibility.

On the occasion, Joint Secretary at the Ministry Gokrana Mani Duwadi presented the progress of the ministry stating that performance of eight programmes, out of 18 programmes launched, was less than 49 per cent. RSS
