Study underway to shift Bharatpur Airport

Chitwan, Dec. 27: Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ram Kumar Shrestha, has said that the government has been carrying out study to relocate the Bharatpur airport in Chitwan district.

Speaking at a news conference organised by the Reporters’ Club, Chitwan, at the airport today, Minister Shrestha said that it was necessary to relocate the airport in the alternative place as it is small and lies in dense settlement.

Stating that a modern airport was necessary in Chitwan, he said study in this regard was underway.

In a different context, Minister Shrestha said that they are very eager to handover power to a new government as soon as possible.

He also urged the political parties to form a new government by January 14 after submitting the names of candidates under the proportional representation electoral system within the deadline. RSS
