Medical equipments worth Rs. 60 million provided to TUTH

Kathmandu, Dec. 27: The Project Cure, a USA-based organisation, donated medical equipments worth Rs. 60 million to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Maharajgunj today.

The equipments were handed over to the Hospital at the initiatives of former Speaker, Taranath Ranabhat. The International Rotary Club Kantipur had provided financial assistance for the same.

At a programme organised to hand over the equipments, Minister for Health and Population, Bidyadhar Mallik, said that even though there is lack of resources at all the hospitals, works should be carried out in the interest of patients by fully utilizing the equipments provided by different organisations.

Minister Mallik said that investment in human welfare sector including education and health and in infrastructure development was inadequate.

Similarly, former Speaker, Ranabhat, stressed that health service should be provided in a smooth manner to all people.

Hospital’s Executive Director, Prof Dr. Bhagawan Koirala, expressed the belief that the patients would be benefited from the equipments provided to the hospital today.

Officiating Dean at the TU Institute of Medicine, Prof Dr. Bimal Kumar Sinha, said that the equipments will be fully utilized in the treatment and thanked the donors for the support. RSS
