Dhangadhi, Dec. 26: Normal life in western plain districts including Kailali and Kanchanpur has been adversely affected due to bone-chilling cold and foggy weather for the past couple of days.

Among the most affected from growing cold are students, labourers and elderly citizens.  With its effect, the flow of patients suffering from common cold, respiration and cold diarrhea is on the rise in local hospital and clinics, said health workers.

Besides, the locals have faced shortage of fire woods to keep them warm sitting around the fire these days. The farming of mustards, potatoes and tomatoes is likely to be badly affected if the cold wave continues for some more days, said agricultural technicians.

The mercury in the district is abruptly dipping these days. The temperature of the districts was recorded to be 16.8 Degree Centigrade on Wednesday while it was 24 just three days back,  according to the local office of Department of Weather Forecasting and Meteorology. RSS
