agni sapkotaKathmandu, Dec. 21: The UCPN (Maoist) has said the party would not recommend the Proportional Representation (PR) candidates for a new Constituent Assembly until a political consensus is forged on the entire process.

During a regular press meet at the party central office, Parisdanda Saturday, Spokesperson for the party, Agni Prasad Sapkota, sought a fresh agreement among the major political parties in a new basis. The party would participate in a new CA if our demand is addressed, he added.

The formation of a high-level political commission to probe the alleged rigging in the November 19 CA election process, continuity of the High- Level Political Committee until the promulgation of a new constitution, abiding by the past agreements and taking up the ownership of the agreements made by the first CA are among the demands put forth by the party, he added.

He stressed the need of including the parties out of the CA in the constitution-making process and creating a new basis for forging a new consensus.

The UCPN (M) spokesperson further said the party would not join a new government under any circumstances no matter even it joins the new CA. RSS
