Chairman Regmi urges professional to serve nation

khilraj regmiBanepa, Dec, 20: Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi has urged the educated youth to serve the nation as there were immense potential for opportunities and development.

Addressing the 19th convocation ceremony (medical sciences) of Kathmandu University (KU) organized here Friday, Chairman Regmi said the government would continue assistance and encouragement to create a working environment for the professionals.

He said, “Serving the nation does not mean depriving from the international competition and opportunities. But, the skilled human resources should devote to the nation through their labor and investment as far as practicable by participating in the international competition.”

Regmi urged the medical graduates to up the research activities in treatment system, identification of diseases, development of medicines and medical science and systems.

Likewise, Minister for Education and Pro Chancellor of KU Madhav Prasad Poudel urged the fresh graduates to provide health services to the economically backward community.

Also speaking at the programme, Vice Chancellor of KU Dr Ramkantha Makaju asked the graduated students to perform their duties differently and make commitment to materialize their dreams.

On the occasion, Kamal Prasad Acharya of Nobel Medical College of Biratnagar was honored with the Vice Chancellor Gold Medal for coming out first in Bachelors in Medicine and Bachelors in Surgery (MBBS) level.

A total of 1,200 students including 251 foreign students were graduated. RSS
