Koirala’s election expenses nine hundred thousand

Sushil-KoiralaChitwan, Dec. 20: Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala spent Rs. 946,410 in the Constituent Assembly election that he contested from constituency no. 4 of Chitwan.

According to the expense details that he submitted to the District Election Office, Chitwan, Koirala spent the amount in mobilization of cadres, fuel and vehicle, office operation, publicity in electronic and print media and other publicity materials.

Koirala had received the amount as donation from local industrialists, businessmen, professional and other donors deposited at Koirala’s account at the Rising Development Bank in Narayangadh, according to NC Chitwan Secretary Jit Narayan Shrestha.

The Election Commission had set a ceiling of Rs. one million as maximum expense for a candidate contesting the FPTP seat in November 19 CA election.

Likewise, CPN-UML candidate Parwati Rawal submitted her election expenditures details today. She spent a total of Rs. 728,031 in the election.

A total of nine candidates have submitted their election expenditure details at the District Election Office to date.

As per the election law, the candidates must submit their election expenditure details within 35 days of the declaration of the election result.

The FPTP candidate must submit their details at the concerned District Election Office while the PR candidates have to do so at the Election Commission in Kathmandu. RSS
