Law amendment on for local body election

Kathmandu, Dec. 19: The Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development has outlined amendment to necessary act and regulations for local body election.

‘The Ministry has expedited other processes once outlining amendment to various legal frameworks required to hold local body election. The Ministry is eager to hold early election of local bodies’, Ministry Spokesperson Dinesh Thapaliya said while talking to RSS.

Importantly, the major political parties have been stressing the need to hold local body election within a year after Constituent Assembly (CA) election.

Now the CA election has been held successfully. The Election Commission (EC) has also shared its readiness to hold local body election. The local boies have been without people’s representatives since the past 15 years. RSS
