RAILWAY EXTENSION BEGINNING SOON

Janakpur, Dec. 19: The only railway service of the country is to be expanded within a month.

Necessary process to this effect is to be forwarded immediately after the Indian contractor company is ready to work for this,, said Nepal Railway Service.

The Ministry of Finance has endorsed the process to bring essential equipments and instruments from india to Nepal for the railway expansion, said Tepak Raj Bohara, Chief of Railway Department Site Office.

He said the expansion works will begin within a couple of days once the instruments come.

The railway service is in sorry state and the locals have been facing tough time with the disruption of its service time and again.

The Government of India has provided financial assistance for the improvement and expansion of railway service. According to the plan, the railway service will be extended to Bardibas, Mahottari from Jayanagar.

Meanwhile, the railway office has provided Rs. 20 million as compensation to the locals for occupying their lands for expansion works. Some 91 bighas of land would be occupied in course of expanding the service, said an official at the Railway Division Office. RSS
