Kathmandu cultural forum ends with kathmandu declaration

Kathmandu, Dec. 16: The Kathmandu Cultural Forum organized with the objective of consolidating cultural relations of south Asian countries with China ended with the Kathmandu Declaration here Monday.

The day-long programme was organized jointly by Chinese Cultural Uplift Society and Araniko Society with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

At the programme, representatives of various countries presented working papers on ‘cultural sovereignty and development in the context of globalization’.

On behalf of Nepal, Prof. Abhi Subedi and Prem Khatri presented working paper on the theme of the programme.

Earlier, Minister for Culture and Tourism Ram Kumar Shrestha, Chinese Vice-minister Deng We and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai had jointly inaugurated the programme.

Delegates from India, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives and host Nepal took part in the programme. RSS
