Government mulling to bring Industrial Enterpriszes Act

Hetauda, Dec. 13: Minister for Finance and Industry Shanker Prasad Koirala has said that the government was introducing the Industrial Enterprises Act for expanding new industrial areas and providing additional facilities to multinational companies.

             Inaugurating the golden jubilee festival and golden jubilee pillar of Hetauda Industrial Corridor here on Friday, Minister Koirala said the entrepreneurs should play effective role to strengthen economic situation by enabling production-friendly environment for domestic industries to grow.

             He shared that the Ministry would issue circular to the Ministries concerned to prevent the municipality from collecting taxes from different industries operating in the corridor as it is being done in an unaccountable way.

             Minister Koirala further said that the Ministry has initiated the task to set up new taskforce to enable investment-friendly environment in different cities including Bhairahawa, Simara and Surkhet and expressed hope that the multi-national companies would be set up in the cities soon.

             On the occasion, Secretary at the Ministry of Industry Krishna Gyawali said it has been easier to set up industrial corridor when the new entrepreneurs completed industrial criteria and urged the industrialists to develop infrastructure in coordination with employees. RSS
