Gorkha, Dec. 12: Unified CPN (Maoist) leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said constitution with federalism was inevitable in Nepal.

Inaugurating the 54th anniversary of Bhairabashram Higher Secondary School at Fujel of Gorkha, he said that the agenda of republic, secularism and federalism were carried by the UCPN (Maoist) and so it would not do good for the country if  efforts were made to revive the old constitution.

“Constitution with federalism is the need of the hour”, he said.

Several questions have been raised over the credibility of the election, he said, demanding the formation of an independent commission to probe rigging in the vote.

No access to agent to sites where polling boxes were kept and delay in vote counting provided evidence of massive rigging in election, he argued.

He thanked the people of Gorkha for his victory and pledged to move ahead with a master plan for the development of Gorkha.

People would rise up again if war-time incidents were revived to hurt them. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Commission on the Disappeared should be set up to resolve such problems, leader Bhattarai added.

No one should make ill-effort to flare up the cases against the norms of the comprehensive peace accord’, he noted. RSS
