Lalitpur, Dec. 12: British Gorkha Satyagraha Struggle Committee, Nepal has demanded the recognition of the contribution and honesty of the Gurkha armies.

At a press meet in the capital Thursday, the committee office-bearers complained that the British Government failed to give due respect to the Gurkha armies who fought for the sake of Britain and also failed to treat them equally. “Art of war and dedication of British Gurkhas have not been recognized.”

Committee Executive Director LB Ghising said although they have voiced for equal pension, compensation, treatment expenses, residential visa for children (above 18) of Gurkha armies from the British Government in par to their British colleagues, the later is totally apathetic towards  that end.

The committee has meanwhile appealed to all politicians, intellectuals and representatives of diplomatic missions to help get their demands addressed.

Committee Secretary Rajen Raj Rai warned of continuing the protest until their demands are addressed. RSS
