Gaighat (Udayapur), Dec. 11: The construction of a bridge over the Sunkosi River at Ghurmi has started. The construction works were suspended during the rainy season since mid-June due to the increase in the water level of the river.

“Bridge construction has resumed with the decrease in the water level in the river,” said Arjun Aryal, the In-charge of the bridge construction company. The Waiba Construction Company is undertaking the construction works for the last 12 years. The construction has been hampered due to one or the other reason and the bridge is not completed even in 12 years. Only three pillars have been constructed so far.

The bridge connects Ghurmi of Udayapur district and Harkapur of Okhaldhunga district and it lies on the Siddhicharan Highway.  The total estimated cost of the bridge is Rs. 140 million. RSS
