Kathmandu, Dec. 10: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has directed the authorities concerned to take stern action against the taxi drivers and entrepreneurs tampering with their taxi meter and fleecing the passengers.
Responding to complaints by service recipients against taxi driver, who charge exorbitant fare and deny providing service in any specific location or after a specific time, the Commission issued such a directive on Tuesday to the Department of Nepal Standards and Metrology, Department of Transport Management and the Metropolitan Traffic Division.
The directive was issued following a discussion held with concerned authorities and the CIAA Commissioners today in response to the significant number of complaints received of the trouble facing the service recipients as a result of the taxi driver, said Assistant Spokesperson of the CIAA Keshav Prasad Ghimire.
