CPN (UML) cc meeting on Dec. 9

Kathmandu, Dec. 6: A Central Committee meeting of the CPN (UML) has been scheduled for December 9 to prepare a clear criteria for selecting to the Constituent Assembly (CA) from the party towards the Proportional Representation (PR).

The party called the CC meeting after a Standing Committee meeting held today failed to make the criteria. Agenda of extending gratitude in the context of CA election-2070 BS, direction to local party committees to send review report of the CA election, current political situation, preparing criteria for selecting CA members from proportional list, among others, have been fixed for the meeting.

A press release issued by secretary, Bishnu Prasad Poudel, after the standing committee meeting, stated that the names of CA members towards proportional would be recommended by selecting names of CA members in a rational manner on the basis of party’s criteria.

The press release also directed candidates towards proportional list and their supporters to return to their working place and to engage in party’s defined works.

A talks committee has been formed under the coordination of party Chairman, Jhalanath Khanal, to hold political discussion on different issues including formation of a new government.

Senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, leader KP Sharma Oli, Vice-Chairperson duo Bidyadevi Bhandari and Bamdev Gautam and General Secretary, Ishwor Pokhrel, are in the committee. RSS
