Tourists provide financial support to a school in Myagdi

Myagdi (Babiyachaur), Dec. 4: Foreign tourists, who had come for the Round-Dhaulagiri trekking in Myagdi district, provided financial support of around Rs. 100,000 to the Mudi VDC-based Kailash Primary School.

The school said that the support was provided by foreign tourists who came for trekking and climbing the Dhaulagiri peak from mid-August to mid-November.

Around 300 tourists had provided Rs. 96,000 during the period, said Dhan Bahadur Purja, a teacher.

The school had also got Rs. 148,000 during the season of the last year.

The financial support is spent on physical infrastructure construction of the school, scholarship to poor students and drinking water facility, among others.

A large number of tourists visit the route from mid-August to mid-November and mid-April to mid-June. RSS
