Cabinet Decisions- Rs 1 million to each cricket player

Kathmandu, Dec. 2: The government has said the November 19 election to the Constituent Assembly held in free, fair and credible atmosphere has now led the country towards political stability and prosperity.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday concluded that the government tasked with holding CA election on November 19 accomplished its responsibility successfully.

“Government is confident that the CA election was held in a free, fair and credible manner thereby paving way for the Nepali people to write constitution, form stable government, maintain political stability and lead the country towards prosperity,” said Madhav Prasad Poudel Spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communication after the meeting.

According to him, the government expressed gratitude to all Nepalis who enthusiastically participated in the election by making it unprecedentedly successful despite some obstructions.

Similarly, it thanked to the Election Commission, political parties and candidates, media persons, civil society, human rights activists, professional organizations, civil servants, teachers, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police and all those mobilized from the center to the polling stations for making the election successful.

Others thanked by the government are the national and international observers, monitors and the international community.

Congratulating all cricket players and the cricket team for making Nepali cricket team qualified for ICC World Cup T-20 cricket tournament, the government has decided to provide Rs 1 million each to 15 players while half million to the trainer and manager and Rs 300,000 to others including physiotherapists involved in the team.

According to the Spokesperson, the Ministry of Youth and Sports would be directed to present a plan before the government on the development of physical infrastructure to hold international cricket tournament and for the development of cricket in Nepal.

Moreover, the government decided to accept 10 million Swiss franc provided by the Swiss government for the implementation of the Local Governance and Community Development Programme (Second Phase).

According to the Cabinet meeting decision, Rs 10 million will be provided as assistance to the family of truck driver Raj Kumar Deuja who lost life after his truck was set on fire at Bara Pipara on November 14.

The government will bear the treatment cost of Samir Khadgi who was injured in bomb blast at Bhotebahal, Kathmandu in the run-up to CA election. He will also be provided Rs 150,000 for the management of his study up to grade 10.

Deputy Attorney General Thag Prasad Shivakoti will be named the Chairman of an investigation committee to be formed as per the Section 62 of Nepal Army Act 2063.

Spokesperson Poudel said the family of the late musician Phatteman Rajbhandari would be provided half million assistance. Similar amount would be provided to musician Dipak Jungam for the treatment to his heart disease. RSS
