9 dead in separate road accidents in Ramechhap

Manthali, Dec. 2: At least nine persons died and many others were injured in separate road accidents in Ramechhap district on Monday.

The bus (Ba 2 Kha 3166) on its way to Ramechhap from Rampur met with an accident in Sukajor VDC-6 on Monday morning killing six persons on the spot.

A person died while receiving treatment, the police said. Identity of two persons has not been ascertained yet.

The deceased are Santosh Shrestha, 85, of Rampur-3; Kamala Tamang, 50, of Rampur-5; Nir Bahadur Tamang, 55, and Dorraj Tamang, 55, of Rampur-2, and Mahabir Majhi, 60, of Rampur-1, according to the District Police Office, Ramechhap.

Likewise, Januka Shrestha, 25, of Chisapani-1 and Kante Majhi of Rampur VDC also died in the incident.

Eighteen passengers were critically hurt in the incident. Of them, four were sent to Kathmandu in a helicopter for further treatment.

Similarly, two persons died when a passenger bus ran over in Bhaluwajor VDC in the district. The deceased are identified as Upendra Karki of Manthali VDC-7 and Thir Bahadur Achhami of Bhatauli VDC. RSS
