SAARC Level Recognition to Bharatpur Medical College

Chitwan, Dec. 1: College of Medical Sciences (Bharatpur Medical College), Bharatpur, has been formally provided with the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) level recognition for surgery services.

It was informed at a special programme organized at the College on Sunday.

On the occasion, chief guest and Secretary at the Ministry of Health, Prabin Mishra, said though the declaration was important achievement, it was equally challenging to maintain the recognition.

Chairman of the SAARC Surgical Care Society, Rakesh Barma, extended best wishes for the college.

Similarly, Dr. Abdul Majhi of Pakastan and Dr. MB Rana of Sri Lanka said the achievement was important in the entire SAARC countries, adding that such hospital would be established in other countries gradually.

A survey of a team that included the SAARC Surgical Care Society had provided the recognition.

The College carries out a surgery of an average 20 patients every day, said Dr. Sujit Kumar. RSS
