9.46 million valid votes under PR

Kathmandu, Dec. 1: The Election Commission (EC) has said that the total valid vote under the proportional representation (PR) electoral system in the Constituent Assembly (CA) election was 9,463,862.

Issuing a press statement this evening, the EC said that a total of 122 political parties participated in the PR electoral system secured the votes.

Spokesperson of the EC Bir Bahadur Rai said that the result was given a final touch on Sunday.

Rai added that all political parties would be formally informed about the number of seats under the PR secured by them at 11:00 am on Tuesday. RSS

  EC urges parties to remove pamphlets, posters

The Election Commission (EC) on Sunday urged the political parties to remove posters, pamphlets and other publicity materials they used in different places during the electioneering within 60 days of the announcement of election result.

Issuing a press release, Spokesperson of the EC, Bir Bahadur Rai, asked all concerned political parties to remove the posters and pamphlets as per Section 22 of the Election Code of Conduct 2070.

Similarly, the election candidates and parties are asked to submit the financial report on the election expense within 35 days of the announcement of the election result.

The candidates contested in the first-past-the-post category of the CA election can submit the financial report to the concerned district election office while the candidate under the proportional election can submit the report in the Election Commission, said Spokesperson Rai in the press release.
