NC, DOLPA EXPELS SEVEN WITH TERMINATION OF GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

Dolpa, Nov. 30: The Nepali Congress (NC), Dolpa has taken disciplinary action against seven of its members on the charge of carrying out anti-party activities during the November 19 Constituent Assembly (CA) election.  A meeting of the party district working committee decided to expel them from the party with the termination of general membership until the next five years.

Those cadres expelled from the party are Chandra Bahadur Shahi, Mahasamiti member, Dil Bahadur Bista, Pune Rokaya, Jyoti Prasad Pahadi, Nawaraj Shahi, Neema Gurung and Karna Bahadur Shahi.  Of them, Chandra Bahadur was a rival candidate in the election.

However, party district committee secretary Laba Kumar Shahi, among others, are learnt to have padlocked the party office in protest against the decision.  When approached, party district president Tanka Prasad Upadhya said he returned home immediately after the decision and knew nothing about the protest of other members.
