Bhaktapur, Nov. 29: The 26th annual general meeting of the Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry has kicked off from Friday.

Inaugurating the meeting, Chairperson of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party and newly-elected Constituent Assembly (CA) member from Bhaktapur constituency no. 1, Narayan Man Bijukchhe, said that development is lagging behind in the country with growing dominance of bureaucracy.

Alleging that the bureaucracy is being operated based on the share among political forces, he noted that the country would leap forward only after an end to bureaucratic regime.

“The country would witness an acceleration of development on condition the employees are changed with the change of guard. The static and prolonged presence of same bureaucracy is bottleneck to country’s progress”, leader Bijukchhe further said.

Likewise, newly-elected candidate of Nepali Congress from Bhaktapur constituency no. 2, Rameswor Prasad Dhungel underlined the need of cooperation from all political parties and private sectors for the development of the district.

Also speaking at the programme presided over by Bhaktapur Chamber Chairperson Mohan Prasad Tamrakar were FNCCI central vice-chairperson Pradeep Jung Pandey, former chairperson of Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Krishna Prasad Tamrakar Chief District Officer Himnath Dawadi, among others.

The convention would elect a new body of the chamber on Saturday. RSS
