Kathmandu, Nov. 29: Minister for Finance, Industry, and Commerce and Supplies Shanker Prasad Koirala has said that Nepal would strongly raise its agendas in the Ninth Ministerial-Level Meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

At a meeting with the British Ambassador to Nepal Andrew James Sparkes in the Ministry of Finance on Friday, Minister Koirala said that Nepal, in capacity of the chair of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), would introduce concrete proposals regarding the problems facing Nepal and other LDCs.

During the meeting, Minister Koirala hailed the support and concerns expressed by the international community to conclude Nepal’s Constituent Assembly (CA) in a fair and successful manner.

He added that support of the international community was inevitable for Nepal’s economic development.

On the occasion, the British Ambassador suggested to enlarge the criteria of support to be taken from the developed nations.

Urging to learn lessons from the failure of the Doha Round, the British Ambassador said, “Our moral support is with you.”

The Ninth Commerce Ministerial-Level Meeting of the WTO is going to begin from December 1 in Bali of Indonesia. RSS
