PASHUPATI MUSEUM IN PASHUPATINATH SOON

Kathmandu, Nov. 29: The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) is to bring a museum into operation soon.

The Mahasnan ghar, a building on the premises of the Pashupatinath temple is to be developed into the Pashupati Museum, according to the PADT source. The three-storey building was renovated three years ago.

The museum to be spread in around 10,000 square feet of area shall have the collection of wall paintings related to the origin of Pashupatinath, other carvings and documentaries, PADT Member Secretary Dr Govinda Tandon said.

The PADT is conducting a detailed study about its plan and works will be begun soon. Visitors could have the facility  of tea shops, bakeries and cafes and rest rooms, he said.

Meanwhile, the PADT is learnt to have been planning to run a ‘Pashupati Prakashan’, for publishing books giving full information about the temples, holy shrines and holy sites in the Pashupati area. RSS
