Bardibas, Nov. 28: UCPN-Maoist leader Girirajmani Pokhrel has said his party has not questioned the overwhelming participation of people in the recent CA election.
Leader Pokhrel who won CA seat from Constituency No. 1 of Mahottari district, addressing voters in Sitapur Bajar in his constituency today said he would actively engage in the development of the area as well as in constitution.
Earlier, interacting with voters in Dharmapur VDC on Wednesday, he said his attention was drawn towards loss minimization of the floods annually in Mahottari district.
My party is ready for participation in constitution drafting process, he said, adding the country should adopt a path of consensus for the same and not the majority system.
Now the country should study and research on other models and not only the British model for the development of democracy, he added.
Meanwhile, Nepali Congress is in the forefront of vote counting in proportional representation system in the district.
The party received 34, 983 votes, whereas UCPN-Maoist was second with 32,161, said Chief Election Officer Prakash Kharel.
Among the Madhes centric parties, Rastriya Madhes Samajbadi Party received 24, 914 and CPN-UML 22, 561 votes, he said. RSS
