Gaighat, Nov. 24: Nepali Congress, Udayapur has decided to take action some district leaders for betraying party’s candidate from Udayapur Constituency No. 2 that resulted in the loss of the party in the Constituent Assembly (CA) election.
A meeting of the party district committee held on Saturday decided to recommend action against some district leaders for betraying own party candidate from constituency no. 2, said NC Udayapur President Himal Karki.
In three electoral constituencies in Udayapur, NC candidates Dr Narayan Khadka and Narayan Bahadur Karki won election in Constituency no. 1 and 3, respectively.
But in constituency no. 2, NC candiaite Pramila Rai lost to CPN-UML candidate Manju Kumari Chaudhary by 23 votes.
It is alleged that Rai had to lose election when some NC district leaders supported Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)’s candidate Hari Bahadur Basnet to defeat own party candidate. RSS
