Kathmandu, Nov. 19: Voting has been encouraging in various polling centers across the country for the second CA election today.
In Ratnarajya Higher Secondary School Centre at Baneswor in Kathmandu Constituency No. 1, an 84-year old Yagya Murti Kandel, voted as first voter. He said he has been voting since 2015 BS as he is active in politics since 2007 BS.
Yognarayan Shrestha, 82, also voted from there. At Gyanniketan Secondary School centre at Shankhamul, voters complained that voting was slow.
The voting is peaceful, said Polling Officer Krishna Prasad Neupaney. In Tanahu Constituency No. 2 Chandidevi Higher Secondary School polling centre, Nandaraj Pun, 100, voted at Byas Municipality-5.
He said he was happy to vote in this age and wished for peace and development in the country after election. In Bhadrapur, Lilakanta Ghimire, 100, a resident of Chandragadhi- 1, voted in Kalbalgudi B polling centre at Chandragadhi.
From Kalbalgudi A polling centre, NC General Secretary and Constituency No. 3 candidate Krishna Prasad Sitaula also voted. In Banepa, problems were seen in two VDCs Patlekhet and Kushadevi and in Banepa municipality in ballot boxes and voting started after using new ballot boxes, said Election Officer Bijaya Raj Karki. He said the ballot boxes were found broken.
