Devkota’s texts should be translated to make accessible in international level

Kathmandu, Nov. 3: Finance Minister Shanker Prasad Koirala has stressed the need for translating the literary creations of Mahakavi Laxmi Prasad Devkota to make them accessible in the international market.

At a programme organized by Dillibazaar Kanya Campus on the occasion of 104th birth anniversary of the poet laureate on Sunday, Finance Minister Koirala said that the reality written about Devkota which are ten times more than his literary creations should help to take Devkota in the height of the world literature.

The finance minister, who is known as SP Koirala in the literary field, urged the stakeholders to run a campaign to transform make Devkota’s house into a museum and added that the government was ready to provide all kinds of support for it.

Also speaking at the same programme, Prof Krishna Hari Baral said that Devkota’s creations were influenced by humanism and that Devkota would be among the three best historical figures if they were selected. RSS
