Alam’s Health Condition Stable

Kathmandu, Oct. 5:  The health condition of Mahamud Alam, who was critically injured after being shot at by an unidentified group, is stable.

Some unknown people who came on motorbikes bearing Indian number plate had shot at Alam, a candidate of the CPN-UML for first-past-the-post (FPTP) of Constituent Assembly (CA) election from Bara district constituency no. 4, in Parwanipur of Bara on Saturday morning.

He is now undergoing treatment at Intensive Care Unit at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital at Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.

A surgery was performed on his brain on Saturday. His condition is stable, said doctors involved in his treatment. Neuro Specialist Dr Upendra Devkota and CPN-UML leader Dr Bamshidhar Mishra had enquired about his health condition.

The assailants had run away after shooting at Alam, said eyewitnesses. RSS
