Sound security system is the first and compulsory condition for the CA Election

Kathmandu, Oct. 4: Minister for Home Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire has stressed the need of making the Nepal police as a common patron of all rather than using it as a means of achieving benefits.

Speaking at a special ceremony at the Nepal Police Headquarters on the occasion of 58th Nepal Police Service Day today, Minister Ghimire said the government is working to strengthen the Nepal police organisation, make it more accountable to the people and motivate the police personnel.

“Nepal Police is a body for establishing the rule of law and enforcing laws and the moral ground is the important aspect of the Nepal Police,” the Home Minister stressed that protection of human rights and welfare of women, children and people should be a priority of the Nepal Police.

Sound security system is the first and compulsory condition for the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election, he said.  It is the responsibility of the Nepal Police to create atmosphere conducive to the election, the Home Minister said.

Home Secretary Janardan Nepal said the Nepal Police is ready to face any kinds of untoward challenges during the election period, promising transparency in every activities of the police organisation.

According to information provided by Inspector General of Police Kuber Singh Rana at the programme, families of police personnel attaining martyrdom during the conflict period in the country were honoured on the occasion of the Police Day.

Nepal Police is always committed to people’s service, he said, vowing to arrange sound security system in the upcoming CA election.

Families of martyred police were honoured with cash prizes and letters of honour. Prior to this, Minister Ghimire and other high-ranking police officials visited the Nepal Police Headquarters, Naxal and laid wreaths on the statues of martyr police there. RSS
