
Kanchanpur, Dec 9: Eight girls who entered the Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve for collecting wild berries have gone missing since Monday afternoon.
The girls from Bagphanta, Bhimdutta Municipality-19 had left school for home at 2 pm on Monday and entered the reserve area from the Malubela Post saying they were going there for collecting berries.
Distraught parents of the girls informed the police after their daughters failed to come home even late night.
Police, locals and the reserve staff carried out a search for the missing girls since last night but their whereabouts is not known till the time of filing this report, according to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.
The District Police Office stated that the search is on and would be continued throughout the day. Police suspect that the girls might have lost their way inside the reserve. The missing girls are between seven to 11 years of age studying from grade one to five.
